Note the cloth covering the 40mm ammo; this was common on quad 40mm mounts later in the war.

They are apparently models of possible IOWA upgrades during the 70's or early 80's?

There were some minor differences between Iowa and Missouri. The Missouri kit would be the easier conversion for two reasons.model_citizen wrote:Hey guys. I am interested in building a WW2 era U.S.S. Wisconsin. I have both the Iowa and Missouri kits from Tamiya and I was wondering which would be easier to convert and what I would have to do. I think I heard somewhere that Missouri and Wisconsin were built differently than Iowa and New Jersey. but that could have been incorrect. thanks for any help you can offer.

They have a direct match for 5-H Haze Gray and 5-N Navy Blue in their Marine Acrylics line but there is no direct match in the enamels lines. You can also try White Ensign Models if you want direct matches in enamels.
