Hi
it's certainly going to look good

Plans/New Information

Post by FW_Allen »

The 3D model is progressing very nicely.

Just curious, but what plans did you consult?

Have you read about all the recently noticed changes to Hood's appearance? Many new photos and close observation/analysis have revealed previously forgotten/overlooked details. This results in a change in appearance to various parts of the ship. Mostly minor things, but cummulatively, it makes a difference. The recent changes will affect the overall accuracy of your renderings.

You can read all about it here in this forum's "Calling All Hood Fans" thread. You can also learn more about changes to Hood in the following articles (the information is about a plastic model, but there are photos and drawings that will help a 3D rendering):

Hi Alin,

Thank you for sending me the link. I will download it and check the renderings. I will be sure to e-mail you if I have any suggestions. I'll keep it very basic and provide proof so you can make changes.

Looks good 01Alin. I use Rhino as well, so I have a question. What process(Rhino funtion) did you use to make the hull ?

I have tried several tools in Rhino, the one I have the most luck with is "Surface from Network of curves".

Did you do the whole hull at once making one surface or did you create individual surfaces between each station. If so to the second method, how did you get the adjacent station surfaces to match each other ?

Thanks.
