If any of you have ever read a narrative or diary from someone in the Navy in WWII you may have come across entries such as "many bogies, flash red." I recently came across a Navy document written in February, 1944 detailing this and thought it might be useful to both readers and modelers, as it also calls out the different states as well as signal flags to be flown.

Sounds like the fore-runner of the modern day "white and tight", "red and free" codes. Now if I could just remember all the colors, levels, and what they mean. Getting old is hell...
