Two question: First is the color of the hangerdeck the same as the Essex class?The other is the 5"inchers on FDR do a manufacter makes them or do I have to scrathbuild them?

Hi Guys,
First time on this thread.
I have recently purchased both the 1/700 HP FDR 1957 and the 1/700 HP Coral Sea 1949 kits. I like these kits, but they don't come with any decals or p/e. That is okay, as it leaves me more responsible for the fit......and finish!
Here's my dilemma; which kit to build first? I want to finish ONE by the end of summer. Yes, It will take me this long!
Each ship fans thread has its' resident expert(s) and the rest of the fans. I love these ships, so I guess that makes me a fan; not an expert or very learned. I would like input from anyone in helping me to decide which kit to build first.
Things I like:
1949 Coral Sea
Too cool, plus I'd like to add some F7F's in addition to the AD's, F4U's and F8F's. The kit comes with 4 of each a/c previously listed; no F7F's. I'm not yet sure whether or not F7F's even operated from CVB's, but I thought they did.....at least for a little while.
I'd like to find out: how many years did the Coral Sea have the kits, (straight deck and island), configuration? The radar suite, AAA arrangement, paint scheme, (neutrals I presume), all a/c types used for the particular configuration and any other particulars. Anyone know these things?

1957 FDR
Pros: Angle deck, enclosed bow, JETS! The kits comes with 8 F3H's and 4 A3D's.

I decided on a 1/350 Adams class DDG!
The 1/350 DDG is smaller than a 1/700 CVB, and will fit in my cross country travel box. I'm planning to take it to the IPMS National Convention in August.
The Coral Sea 1949 version was getting my second vote. I need to find some F7F's still.

I have two Revell Midyway kits, plan on building both some day. I spent months on her at Hunter Point Naval Ship Yard in the 1969-70, thats when we made her wild flight deck, I was a shop-72 rigger. Midway was in drydock for two years. I will build her as launched and the other one as CV-43. Out of box builds. I don't know how many ship kits I have, but I have over 400 1/48 aircraft kits, 1/72 kits I think over 200. Been building models since 1954. "Boats"..

I'm looking for a detailed plan of the hangar deck of a Midway class AS COMMISSIONED (1945-49)
In particular, I'm looking for a detailed arrangement of hangar bulkheads, both transverse and longitudinal.
The Floating Drydock has plans only for the angled deck version. I'm looking for the original, straight deck version.

Could someone tell me where I could find such a plan (most probably a copy of original BuShip plans)?

This does not exactly show the interior of the hangar deck, but then again................it does!

Pictures taken of a 1/48 clear model of Midway as commissioned. This model is on the Midway's hangar deck presently.
Notice the quad 1.1's on the fantail!!!
