Railing stanchions

Post by Bob Platz »

:cool_2: Hi...I am looking for 1/96 three holed railing stanchions (brass). I have some I bought from Dromedary a time ago but can't find Dromedary any where. Are they still in business?

Thank you Bob Platz

Try the Billings Boats site. I got some 2 rail stanchions from them. They have 3 rail stanchions. You just have to know what length you want them.
Any ship larger than a Destroyer is a waste of metal.

Dromedary has an advertisement in the latest Nautical Research Journal. They are in El Paso Texas, but do not have a website. I believe that Bluejacket has 3 hole stanchions, also, as does Loyalhanna Dockyard.

Bob,
JR Haynes (UK) supply as well. They are photoetch and very well detailed, but used on working models may prove flimsy.
I use fishing line to thread the holes. :thumbs_up_1:

Bob,

aside from the John Haynes Stanchions which were already mentioned- there is also some available from another source- I'm not sure of the manufactures name- but they are available from loyalhanna in the US and Model boatyard in the UK- I've bought two versions of them- one is a solid sheet of stanchions- the other is 1/2 stanchions- 1/2 vertical ladders.

Personally- i like the John Haynes version- they are quite tough- and he has the end stanchions as well

Best regards
