Another example on CVN-72.
Any other carrier nut doing something similar in 1/700 or thinking of doing it??? John (s), Avery, gtb-red, Tom-Tom.
Any new ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Well the bombs are loaded in pairs or trios on weapons skids which would be very difficult to make in 1/700 due to size.kidcurrie42 wrote:Hi Nektarios, i intend doing similar, but it depends on what carrier, USS Coral Sea/America for Libya Ops will be Bombed up as will USS Enterprise for OP Praying Mantis, USS Midway/Ranger/JFK/Saratoga for Desert Storm and USS Kitty Hawk/Constellation for Gulf War 2 ect.

Look, if we can make standard missiles with fins on them for our Bainbridge kit, then we can make bomb carts and ord. trailers for you die hard guys that really enjoy going blind. Its all a matter of time and price.
YES i have to admit it concerning U.S. carriers i really am a masochist. I believe the only other guy that has this tendency is kidcurrie42.Tom@JAG wrote:As far as doing bomb carts and other ordnance trailers go.....its a possibility. The Midway can be done from the HP kit or the Loose Cannon kit. I also think there is a CLAA in the photo and a BB-61 class.gtb -red wrote:HEY all of you 1/700 masters, how about doing a dio of this in 1/700.![]()

Well, you could just build Midway, Newport News and the CLAA and not worry about the Oregon City class. The CLAA would be a fairly straightforward conversion from a Dragon San Diego kit, Newport from a Des Moines kit and Midway from the LCP kit. If you really had to have the Oregon City, then the Trumpy Baltimore kit could be a starting point, but almost all the superstructure would have to be scratchbuilt. Could be lots of fun though.Nektarios wrote:The Midway can be done from the HP kit or the Loose Cannon kit.
