just found this Picture:

Image

Its´s a Concept of german BB "H", planed as following BS and TP according to Z-Plan....
maybe it´s inspiriting or useful...

I really like the Cammo you ve done. It looks like a german Splinter cammo like it was applied to many geman Units.
Maybe the Rear Funnel should loose it´s angular Section and become "Ton- like" or cylindrical/oval.
Just a Opinion...
Like Bob Ross used to say: "We dont make Mistakes, we only make happy Accidents..."

Thanks Yall for the advice. :thanks: As for the overall German feel ,I'm actually naming this ship under the American flag (USS OHIO ) , they main reason i used the Bismarck was the size off her from the box,if i used an american BB i would've had to stretch the hull a lot more. For the AA I do plan on adding a "ton" of them, and your are correct that the largest BB ever built was brought down by a/c . I was just thinking of adding some sponsons to the rear section just for aa, and i'm also going to add some scratchbuilt decks along the entire structure for aa alone . But for the size and quantity of the aa I will need your advice .

Here is a new mock up pic, the laser line is dead middle of the ship, since i took the pic i turned the forward funnel 180 degrees so the slope ends touch. That really increased the length between them and i moved the rear funnel back first.

Here is a pic of the hanger bay that I'm just about finished with, just some final touches on this.

One main down and 3 to go, a few pics from start to "almost finished "

Like I said, looks good, but could have used a little straighter work with the drill press. Not that it's exceptionally noticable, when it's in place. End of the day, good job.

If you were building a US ship why not convert an Iowa kit? Tamiya makes a nice one and you can find some pretty cheap knock-offs from Minihobby. I'm still for 11" guns, but whatever, it's you're model you build how you want and you're doing a great job! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Yall I thank you very much for your encouragement,That seriously is what keeps me pushing along. Avery ,I would go with another design and/ or gun inplacement but I don't really have a job right now so the design I have and/or guns I've got I have to run with,I do seriously appreciate your advice and I want to live up to everyone's expectations ,but as it is I have to work with what I got,I know the sharnhorst turrets are a better fit for the build I have going but I already have the Arizona and can't really afford another model right now. So I have to go with what I have or scratchbuild what I don't. I do like having to build what I don't have, because that's making me work harder for what I want. I still want to hear from everyone following this build and hope you to tell me when something doesn't work.Because let's face it without yall this build would be a great mistake given that I'm basically a newbie at ships and don't really know what works and what doesn't.Once again Thanks to all of you for your advice and/or comments. :worship_1:

Honestly the more agressive the build the more I like it.

Hi, Looking great, have you considered cutting the rounded back off the funnels and join them together, have the uptakes coming from forward and aft ?

Regards

John

Thanks Yall, Kid I can't say that I thought of that  But it doesn't sound like a bad idea. One large funnel. I'm going to have to look into that.

Nice work and concept so far, but even though you are imagining her as a US BB it screams German to me... hull form, turret shapes, etc.

Single trunked funnels, though, are non-denominational. We had 'em, and so did the Germans and Japanese.

Hello all, I've been working on a crane the past couple days. But here is the problem, even though I think it come out decent, I think it's just way to big, In the first pic below you'll see different colored lines as those are the places I'm thinking of cutting it off. If you could help me out I'd as always be grateful for your help. Just tell me the color of the line were you think I should cut it down to.Or just scrap the whole thing and start over. :flamed: The second pic gives a bit more scale to the ship vs crane. Thanks in advance and I hope everyone is having a great day. :wave_1:

I think a regular-sized crane would do, since the planes aren't enlarged or otherwise different from their real-life versions.

The Dark Blue on the Height, and the Teal on the extension. That would give it sufficient reach to set the plane straight on the elevator and still be compact enough to sit on the deck. That would, in my guess, be the most efficient thought. Of course, this is just my thought, since the crane seems to be for everything.

Hi,
I would take the height from the yellow line and length back to the green, i think the crane would possibly be liable to toppling if a large ammount of weight was lifted with the present length of the arm. i would also consider moving the crane forward to enable a direct plumb into the lift well.

Regards

John

I do thank those of you for the advice on the crane .But I think it's pretty much about complete it may still be a tad on the large side but o'well. i would like to know if it still looks to out of place to use or if it will work. have a good one and take care.

Well here is what I got done today ( a few pics anyway). I also had a tragedy , my nephew and I were playing football ( American) in the house and I didn't catch one ball which flew right into the crane I built and well let's say it pretty much destroyed it. :cry_3:

This is the rear forward main gun location ,just in front I cut a spot out for a set of 5"s
