Hi Russ Good to see you posting your Jean Bart project in Scratch Build. There is a particularly good article on the Jean Bart with a number of excellent pictures in "Warship 1989" pages 156-165 published by Conway Maritime press. As a matter of interest there is a series of full page detailed on board shots of Richelieu in the publication "Warships and Warship Modelling " Naval Institute Press Hope this helps :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :wave_1:

Hello!

Anyone interested in French warships should notice the Friends Union of
the Muse De Marine De Paris, (Amis = Friends). They have a range of
modern (and elderly) warship plan sets. Among them the Riecheliu and
Jean Bart. Have a look at their homepage.

All the best

Excellent work so far, can't wait to see more. I really like the pic with Mass. and the JB plans, shows a wonderful comparison between the two! :thumbs_up_1:

hi guys,a couple of pics of gun and director moulds and moulding stuff.air bubbles in resin will work there way out.moulding material takes about an hour to start setting up. the casting stuff takes about 5 min it also creates a little heat.the synlube release agent is1000 with silicone, tryed 531 without silicone but it made some things tacky

Hi Russ I've not ventured into the art of moulding resin fittings as yet . I've seen the results achieved by ARH and they are superb. So I awaite with interest your results . At this present time I have few problems making multiple fittings with out moulding. However the prospect of making an entire air group fills me with dred , hence my interest in your progress on moulding.

well here thay are turned out not to bad, zoomed in realy close and thay look a little iffy. but really thay won't clean up to bad. a lot easyer than building 12 100mm'S AND 14 57MM's .rough edges have to be sanded down, top of the pour.

Looks like the isocyanate side of your resin is pretty contaminated- all those brown floaty things in your resin.

Oh, I've done the same, trying to eek out a few last pours from dodgy resin myself....

hi dave, the casting resin i,m using is supper thin, you can stir the heck out of it and no bubbles,it also sets up in less than 5 min.
the moulding stuff is a differant story, know matter how slow or carefull you are you get bubbles, make sure master is sealed good to bottum of mould frame or air will sneak out from under master.after pour i put it on my jig saw and run it slow so it vibrates gets rid of most bubbles
heres soom small stuff, deck whinchs are about 3/8 " long
