Now you've got me there, 3 decades before my timenick wrote:Whats the color of barges back in 1941?
Again, if you go for a grey/brown effect you'd be close enough.

And..um the other final q
If you can't answer it's completely OK

Food, medical supplies, bedding etc...
That's the reason I've shown a load of 'crates' around and on the dock in my diorama.

You should do a book on what you do. I'll buy it.

Actually, I wouldn't mind giving it a go one day, just not sure anyone would buy though
I might do a full build up report when I come to building the Hornet preparing for the Doolittle Raid...

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood
I've already known of the WW2 trucks sold by a certain company (It started with letter G???). After I saw the price it was
So..
would it be worth it to scratchbuild the trucks in 1/350????

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood
Not something I'd want to try personally.
As well as the trucks by GHQ (they are the only Japanese trucks I'm aware of hence the reason I used them), L'Arsenal also do trucks in 1/350th which you can get from WEM: http://www.whiteensignmodels.com/acatal ... atalogBody
Bear in mind though that trucks in the UK in the 1930's and 40's looked somewhat different...

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood
Well,
I can't buy them since I can't...I'm still 13
I think I'll try scratchbuilding it, even if it's that challenging especially the nose! I saw a picture of British vehicles lying in ruins near Dunkirk and I'd say thats a real challenge!
I've already started making plans for a more simplified "no nose like" engine.

I have made some new progress on Hood. I'll show the in progress scratchbuilt trucks later. When johndon's trucks arrive I'll include the scratchbuilt ones.

Re: Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood
Here is the truck pic.
It doesn't look that World War 2ish but it looks nice. I'm planning to make 5 of them.
I'll just see the comparison between the scratch and the L'arsenal ones.
It is made of think paper for the body and sprue rings for the wheels
Thanks
Nick

Some pics of the barges:
Every one of them (8 in all) is made from paper and wire. I decided to use the deep green color for the 5 barges and still to paint the other three barges with sky grey. I skipped Barge 4 and continued with Barge 5
The barge's cargo are still in progress

- Heres a pic of the dock. It has the 2 trucks temporatily placed. There is also a tractor that came from the Nimitz (It's a old and it's my first resin build ever!) The oil barrels are from plastic rod. And the toothpicks ar just accessories. Barge 3 is portrayed loading some supplies to be carried on-board Hood
