Hi everyone. I've been poking around here for a while and this is one of my few interactions. Bear with me.
I have an idea for a model I would like to do but none exists of this particular ship so I guess that leaves me with scratchbuilding. How do you begin? I can figure out the decks and other superstructure components but How would i create the hull?
There are very few pictures of this ship so I would guess a smaller scale with less detail would be best.
Any thoughs, ideas or info how anyone here got started would be great

Re: Getting started
Hi,
1. what is the ship.
2. Is it static or radio controlled.
3. What is the scale you want to build in.

Simple but effective.

Re: Getting started
You may have gone this route already, but since the Leviathan is the former SS Vaterland, you might come up with more hits in that direction.

Re: Getting started
I have found no kits for either name, hence the reason to scratch build, but I have no clue where to begin.

Re: Getting started
Hi Dirkpitt, regarding hull construction, I would go to the Online Scratchbuild Section, just above this one, and look for any of the builds from Ron Horabin-ARH, whether, USCG Duane, HMS Iron Duke or USS Moffet, they are all superb lessons in scratchbuilding. You can not go much farther than that.
Cheers.
Pachi.

Thanks Pachi.
That is pretty much what I've been doing since the original post, and I'm learning a lot.
