1/700 Skywave USS Vincennes CG-49 kit.

Almost done! I put on the decals, masts, fire control radar and weapons this weekend. I swapped out the CIWS with two from JAG.

Rigging and three antennas yet to go. And then the display base, which I'm not sure what I want to do, yet.

Thanks for the kudos, Jeffcsr! The Vincennes was the ship on the box, but it came with decals for Yorktown, Valley Forge, and Thomas S. Gates. I think that "Valley Forge" is a cool name and I probably would have portrayed her, but Skywave misspelled the stern decal, i.e. "VALLEY FDRGE". Must be an older kit. I bought it at the local regional IPMS show.

Here are a couple of shots in the daylight.

Except for the ensign hoisting rigging and the ensign, the rigging and antennas are installed. All that will be left is completing the USS Sides FFG-14 and mounting them both to a water base.

Just yesterday, I realized that I had forgotten to mount the twin antennas that stick out above the bridge. That was easy enough to fix. I have added the flag and its rigging, as well.

My 1/700 USS Vincennes CG-49 model is finished as it part of a two ship diorama sailing with the USS Sides FFG-14. These are the most recent photos of the completed model and diorama.
