Calling all Independence-class (CVL-22) fans

Thanks Martin! 1/700 models aren't really my thing!

I have added much of the PE needed to finish Independence. Some are from spares while some are from the HOOD!

Thanks and I'll post the painted PE tomorrow!

Can anyone help me to find out a photo/drawing about this platform, I found that there is a safety net under the platform, but I need a clear view of it. This platform locates at the stern of port side of the CVL.

That's the LSOs (Landing Signal Officer) platform; the wind screen is "down" and would normally be standing upright...it's the light portion in front. See this photo; it's the best one I can find online.

It's Beautiful!!

Excellent job on the mast layout and details! Its a fine example for us to follow.

I'm flattered that you tried the water effect method that I use and by the acknowledgement. The varying blues in the water are wonderful!

I didn't invent the technique, but it works for me, and you've adapted it to your needs with your own creativity. Thanks to Tamiya for the water effect plastic sheets!

I'd suggest trying to photograph your beautiful model with a sky background and in the direct sunlight. It looks like the photos you have already taken were outside, right?

I bought a couple of poster prints at Hobby Lobby with lots of sky, clouds and maybe an ocean horizon and I use them for my background. When photographing the model you have to be aware of making any shadows on the backdrop by the the model or by your own body.

My digital camera has a Macro feature for close-ups. If yours doesn't you can stand or sqwat back from the model and use the zoom feature on the camera.

Sometimes I'll enhance the photos by converting them to Sepia tone or Grayscale. These can turn out very life-like and with your camo measure scheme on the Monterey, I bet they'd looke awesome this way.

I looked for a cloud background, even when to hallmark to get some cloud wrapping paper. Still looking. I'm using a Nikon D200 with a 18-200mm VR lens and a SB800 speed light. It does not have Macro. The next lens I get will have it.

Here is a series of four shots of a bolter going into the barrier. The last shot is marked; 08:15, Jannuary 17, 1951, F4U-4, Buar # 81911, Lt. JG. Hider USN. Dad must have had some kind of a 'motorized' film pack on the back of the 'Speed Grafix'. I don't think he could change film holders that quick.
