I have been informed that the Israelis have converted a few airliners in order for each to carry one or two heavy penetrator weapons for the forthcoming attack on Iran.
Can anyone confirm?

Right. And who exactly can 'confirm' without breaking x number of Israeli security laws, not to mention getting waxed by the Mossad for their trouble?

After that it wouldn't leave 'em much to say if an actual airliner were shot down...

Can anyone confirm?
And whose confirmation would be more credible than the original source of the rumor?

Such a move would potentially endanger all civil aviation across the world in the future.
That's a lot like putting guns and torpedoes on a hospital or evacuation transport and sending it out raiding.

If an unfriendly power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war.

I like the rumor that the US has loaned the IDAF 5 F-111s for the same purpose...( i.e. weekly leased F-4s)
The IDAF already has several types of aircraft in their inventory to handle a strike into Iran.. why would they risk the welfare of all civil air in that area with a conversion of a civil airplane, not to mention the negative response this would garner from their friends in the West.
It must be that trouble making "sneaky media" again.

If it's worth fighting for, it's worth fighting dirty for!
It's not who you are, but what you do that defines you.

Actually, the question in this case is whether "dirty" would be more effective - and looking at the arsenal the IDFAF has and comparing it with Iranian AD, I'd say there is nothing to gain from such a stunt.kennylibben wrote:If it's worth fighting for, it's worth fighting dirty for!
