Re: Any Interest in...
Well, nothing right now. I found a decal printer who will do short runs. So, what I'm doing to converting my 1/72 and 1/144 artwork to the format used by that printer to releave the load on my 3 Alps printers so they will last a bit longer to keep the 1/700 and 1/350 Air Wing decals in production. The 1/72 and 1/144 decals are 75% of my sales right now and if I can shift production from printing them to someone else, that will free up a lot of time to return to developing the Air Wing sets. I'm also vending at Model Shows almost every weekend since the end of Feburary. Last week I was in Lynchburg, VA(IPMS Blue Gray Renegades), This week in Fairfax, Va (IPMS NoVa), and IPMS Region 12 Convention in Greenville, SC May 2-3 so that is taking a lot of time also.simon b wrote:Don't tease us Mark, What's coming up on the decal front?
I need to finish up the Pre-war sets (CV-4 & CV-7), complete CVW-3 ('78) and CVW-6 (60's) that are deep into the art work stage, more WWII Air Groups, and a set for the Kitty someone has given me a ton of photos for. Very unusual Air Wing from OEF I think.
I did re-do CVG-16 (1966) from the O-Boat in 1/350 for a customer. Not a rescaling, but a complete re-do to fit the 1/350 Corsair Armada F-8s & A-4s, WEM A-1Hs, EF-1Bs, and Trumpy EA-3Bs I'll release as a special order after the customer recieves it and checks for fit and other errors. Just wish there was a kit out there for everyone to buy.

Price quote
OK everyone, I heard back from the caster. The good news is I can have them in about a month. Bad news is the cost of the set would be $17.50. If this price sounds reasonable to everyone, I'll pull the trigger to have them cast. I have to have at least 30 sets ordered before I can commit to this. Otherwise the price could jump quite a bit for a smaller casting run.

Sounds fine to me Mark. $17.50 really isn't too bad considering the amount of work saved.

I gotta be honest - if I hadn't built mine already I would have bought one at that price, but I have too many other projects to do. Again, great price and horrible timing.

CVN-65 Hanger DEck Set pending release.
OK everyone, I'll be releasing the Hanger set at the IPMS-USA Nationals (If everything stays on schedule with the caster) for sale. Sets will be $15. If the sales are good, you will see more of these sets for the Italeri and Fujimi CVAs. First run is 50 sets and I have 15 spoken for. That leaves 35 sets to sell to make sure you will see more of this stuff.
