HMS Oribi, 1/700...just to say hi to you all.

Post by Stefano Salesi »

I'm new on the board as an active member, but not new as a visitor and as a shipmodeler.

i'm building ships in 1/700 from years, so, here is a couple of pics of my 1/700 Tamiya HMS Oribi.

I used WEM P.E. and wem resin guns for the model. it's not yet finished, missing are rigging, some 20 mm and some littel touch up (and weathering reduction, too heavy in some points)

One last thing, my photographer skills are the same of a dead leaf..so...sorry for the pics..

Nice work! Don't worry about the photos - there's only a few professional photographers here. Besides, they look fine to me.

Nice work, you'll have to tell us how you did your wake for the float plane. Looks good, and I like the story this model tells.

the wake of the float plane is sculpted with milliput on the sea base, then painted with the whole base using diluited tamiya xf17, using an old brush. i applyed various coat in order to obtain a non homogeneus surface. the wake of floatplane was then dribrushed with navy blue, light blue, titanium white (oil paint) and gloss white.

as reference i used this picture taken from my home, showing a Canadair of the Protezione Civile on sea landing.
