Im building the Yamashiro and have the flyhawk pe set. My problem is its not entirely clear what I cut away from teh pagoda when i add the new rear superstructure bracing. Ive soon some shots which show daylight comming through the gaps. I cant tell if its hollow or what Ill have to scratch build by way of interior. Whole thing a bit intimidating as I dont want to make a mistake.
Hope someone can shed some light on this.

Which 1/700 kit of the Fuso and Yamashiro have you guys had the best experience with?
I'm planning on getting a list of the various ships I'd like to get, and these two sisters are quite 'up there' too, heh. I'd like to get them at 1/700.
I've heard about Aoshima kits, but my local store doesn't carry them, so figured I'd ask.
mperor, my 10c worth says its far eisier to get references on the Fuso.Nicely moulded crisp kits. very nice. both have great pe sets by flyhawk.

I've seen that Aoshima offers a Fuso, but I don't know if people have had positive experiences with it.
The aoshima fuso and yamashiro new moulds are very good indeed. Easily the equal of the newest Hasagawa or Tamiya. Indeed crisper than the Tamiya Ise by quite a bit in comparison. I have the Yamashiro with the flyhawk pe and it rocks. Ive seen several builds of the Fuso and it gets similar reviews. Very good buy.

Hi Fuso class fans. Does anyone have any references on the deck materials used on the Pagoda Mast? In my copy of Skulski it isnt explicitly mentioned. The lowest level shows wood and some levels show treadplate, but on most plan drawings its not shown what the material is. Also, on various models of the ship i've seen most levels are either a combination of gray, linoleum, or wood. Does anyone have any definitive references or educated guesses?
