The only way i can tell that they re not real is that the net on your hoop is white and the one on the real ship is blue-red-white.
Okay, Okay! I'll put a net on my hoop!
I was just kidding about adding a net to the basketball hoop, Guys. No way!
Even if I tried and succeeded, I'd then have to consider adding the wires to the aviation stack antenna and to the aft stack antenna. Then there are probably other details that should not have been omitted with the excuse of "too, small of scale".
You guys might not have noticed (on the model or on the real ship) but the entire main deck area, fore and aft, is a golf driving range. I added that too. Look real close..........
I'm back at my 1/700 DML USS Mustin that I'm trying to protray the USS Sampson DDG-102 with.
Nektarios,
Here are the domes that I thought were the closest ones.
The little ones are from Skywave modern equipment set. The larger ones are from JAG.
I think the JAG ones are a better match than the other two. The ones that the Skywave domes are portraying aren't as spherical as the real ones. Neither are the ones that you sent to me.
Carl, your Iowa is excellent , and your Burke DDG looks like it will turn out the same as well. I hope your Iowa wins that award!!
Quick update on CG-58 All the decals are done, PE next!

Man! That's nice looking Tico! Aren't they fun to build? I thought so.
I still have Skywave Mobile Bay kit. I'll have to make her into another CG, however, for I donated the VLS hatches to Sauragnmon's Mightier Mo project. No problem there, at all, Simon.
Thanks! Yes they are fun to build, it has only taken me a couple of hours of work to get to thie point, it has to be one of my fastest builds yet.

Thanks again for the VLS, Carl - I didn't know you had taken them off another project though... You could always pick up the Arii Ticon and then you'd have the parts to have one backdated and the VLS plates for your Mobile Bay. Just a random thought. I do like the Arii Ticon/Spruance for that purpose. I know that's the weakness of the DML/Skywave ones far as I recall.

Nope! Don't worry about it Simon! I knew what I was doing when I gave them to you. The kit comes with the other missile launchers that I can use. I'm not particular about which ship of the class I'll make. And I marked the box noting that there are no VLS in the box, so that 10 years from now when I go to build it, I won't get all mad that the VLS didn't come with kit.
