I've got two of those in my stash - good old Essex carriers! With Starfighter's replacement island and decals, I'll be banging out a Shangri-La one of these days. So many projects...

It's a 125A or 125B, looks like one of the earlier ones, Intrepid, Yorktown, Lexington, etc.

Alright - you people want Putty-Fu, you got Putty-Fu. I showed some of it with my F-20 in the Grey Pride build, but this, This is Putty Fu. Mightier Mo, progress update - I work between the F-20 and the Mo.

There's the simple stuff - the forward Aegis plates.

Here's the bulk of the work - the Aft Superstructure. This is where the most of my build-up is. It's all centered around smoothing it out, I'll be adding two more AEGIS plates on the new aft structure, and I'll be adding the side plates from Trumpy as well, for detail effect.

I would never think to place my Aegis panels so low. Good idea Sauragnmon

Re: Postwar navy in 1/700.
Realistically, they're not much different in height from a Burke, where they are.
I also had to cut out eight launch tubes - the CIWS positions were too narrow for me to line up the third flat mount along the centerline, over the former aft stack, so I had to put it beamwise, and cut out four from each of the aft corners to keep out overlap on the two positions.
Center Beam two mounts are sitting perfect for width, I just have to add some putty between the two mounts to fill the gap, add some outside, and a little extra filling into the structure under them. Then I've gotta fill the mounts and bring the Harpoons outboard a little more with overlap from the third aft VLS. Or I might turn around and put the harpoons further aft, as a thought.

This is my 1/700 ROCN (Taiwan) Yi Yang FFG-939 (ex USS Valdez)built from AFV Club's Knox kit with Veteran Model's SM-1 missile canisters and radars. This project is 99% done. Sorry I won't be able to upload more pictures due to a prior agreement with a publisher.
