Sorry for the bad link, I changed it on my previous post. So the new one I posted will take you direct to the used book search. Bad luck you guys missed the Burt Battleship book for $33. That's pretty cheap. I really had no idea his three BB books were so hard to come by. I guess it pays to be getting kind of old, as I bought all these books when they first were printed. By the way, I will be visiting London this September, and am going to visit the bookstores. Will keep my eye open for British Battleship volumes and post back if I can get any or let you know where you can get one.

As I told Nansung the other day

IF you want the book on Ebay, let the first copy go and the second will open at a loss less.

Well, after that bidder paid close to $ 600 for this book, the first copy has now come out and given a 9 day bidding period. Wanna bet there will be a second soon? Also, a another Burt book, the WW1 version is out as well.

Me, I'm waiting for that second one.

The "Dreadnoughts in Camera" , in case you haven't seen a copy, is more about the building of Britain's Battleships. From the Drawing Office , to the factories, to the building slips. A real insight into what it took to build a dreadnought BB. I recommend it highly, but it is not a reference book or photo collection of all Britain's BBs. More a great history with lots of photos of the building process!

Lost another one to a Sniper bid by a guy called Carr Bill. ***K. Oh well, it will reappear soon enough. it went for 165 GBP which is a lot more reasonable than 312 GBP. Suffice to say my bid was lower.

When place your bid there's about an hour left before the auction ended, I think you should place your bid in the last five minutes.

Yup. I was watching the bidding and had mine in. In the last five sections the other bid just popped up. That was a sniper bid. If I had the chance to reply I would have since it looked to be a pretty clean edition. Oh well, hopefully, I'll get a copy yet.

I always wonder how some bidders can bid in the last seconds. To me, refresh the page will cost about twenty seconds.

Hi guys not posted here for a while but I see many of you are having problems obtaining these books, trust me you will get them eventually just waiting on ebay and amazon, thats how I obtained my complete collection of them all, as I tried every naval book shop in the UK with dismal results! lol!

Concerning an earlier post about getting these reprinted I tried to get that done about 18months ago

They were published by Arms & Armour Press Ltd. which is now a subsidy of Cassell Military Publishing based in London. I spoke to people there who informed the the printing rights had lapsed with themselves! Thus they cannot reprint them and they stated they felt demand anyway would be too low, I begged to differ and onformed them numerous cases of how much these books fetch on the 2nd hand market

They went on further stating the sole reprinting rights have reverted back to the author our mysterious friend Ray A. Burt.

I've not been able to find if he's still alive or where he may live, I believe though that he is probably no longer with us and thus god knows how we can ever get these reprinted!!!
