Hello everyone,

Jan san,
Klasse! :thumbs_up_1: Kinka maru and Kinryu maru are almost identical hull to Kamikawa maru type.

Bob san,
Also I am looking forward to your Brasil maru.

Reigels san,
Good work! :thumbs_up_1: I think that your judgement about hatch dimention is right although only 8 ships (Mitsubishi Kobe #677~684) had wide hatch to store aircraft in hold. Detail is not matter because there are some minor differences among builders.

Motoyuki san,

Thank you for the hatch explanation and your drawing. It is very helpful. It also answers a question I had regarding the placement of the cargo winches.

Best wishes

Hello,

I am planning to build Hasegawa's Heianmaru. In some builds, I saw it is finished with 2 life boats on starboard and port davits. But kit instruction indicates 3 boats placed p and stb. Is this a result of some modifications by years? Any comments on that and which books I have to find ?

Thanks in advance,

Regards :wave_1:

Hard to say, as I don't recall any clear photos of her. Prewar, she had 4 boats port and starboard on the midsection.

Hi Serhan,

I haven't found other clear photos of her taken during the war but have noticed she only had 2 boats per side on Motoyuki san website.

Link: http://ww6.enjoy.ne.jp/~iwashige/heianmaru.htm

Therefore, I would go for this boat configuration on the mid-section.

cheers

Hello Serhan san,
I followed well proved instance of other Sub tenders; Tsukushi maru and Rio de Janeiro maru. The official general arrangement drawing of the latter can be seen at Kure maritime museum.

Hello,

@Gilbert,
Jan,

If you make masters of the above, would you consider to sell the related corrected hulls. I will be very interested by some :please:

cheers

Gilbert
well, actually i havent considered anything like selling the reworked hulls yet. The point was to make the building process of all the
sisterships more easy. Furthermore i have no idea if i would violate any copyrights by selling those reworked hulls. :anyone: Remember,
these hulls are the property of Pitroad! And i dont know when they are altered enough (new bulwarks, longer hull, etc) so that the copyright
is no longer valid. If this is possibible at all. So please appreciate that i check first if i am on safe ground or not. :please: Is that ok?

@Motoyuki iwashige
Jan san,
Klasse! :thumbs_up_1: Kinka maru and Kinryu maru are almost identical hull to Kamikawa maru type.
Kinka Maru and Kinryu Maru are also on my "to do" list! Besides the different appearence of the bulwarks and the alternate arrangement
of the derricks the most prominent feature is that the bridge is one level higher.

Greetings from Germany, Jan Schulz, IG-Waterline :wave_1:

I am trying to do a smaller scale scratchbuild of Aikoku/Hokaku Maru. Can anyone direct me to a good overhead view or deckplan of these ships? I know Pitroad makes a model, but they did not reply to my inquiries. I have seen plenty of side elevations, but really need an overhead. I would appreciate any help that you can give.
Thanks,

Thank you Motoyuki san,
The detailed picture helps very much, and I should be able to use it in perspective. It is a lot clearer than others I've seen.

Please let us know when your book is available, it looks like one that will be very important in this field :thumbs_up_1:
Let us know how we can order from this side of the Pacific!

Hello Doug san,
The book is in the middle of editing and just announced in the latest Model Graphix to issue in April. I suggest to order Hobby Link Japan, Amazon co, and other shop like Rainbow Tenhttp://www.rainbowten.co.jp/index.html for example. Please wait for about two months :wave_1:

What is on the cover of the magazine so I know what to look for? I went on HLJ and found an April issue, but it had 2 race cars on the cover. Rainbowten shows it as #293.

Hello all,
:thanks: I referred to editor about more information; cover design is not settled yet and to be in time to the next Model Graphix issue for the present. The first information seems to have been sent to shops, and more info including ISBN code will follow sooner or later, so I think you can pre-order it surely by the end of this month.

Hello All,

I have just received today Navy Yard #10. In the last pages, there are very nice art pictures from Kihachiro Ueda :

- A double page showing Kamikawa-maru, view taken from the stern, starboard side
- Single page of Yasukuni-maru, view from the bow, starboard side.

There is an article related to the latter ship from Tashiro  Iwashige. Unfortunately, my japanese is very poor but, as the article is not too long, maybe Motoyuki San will provide us with a translation  .

cheers
