Ludwig's shop looks more like a clean room in a fab shop, certainly not any modeler's workshop I can relate to.

Simply amazing! :thumbs_up_1:

I just got it today. An architects drawing bench, which was one of my secret dreams. Huge, tiltable, clean and smooth surface. And it was for free!. You bet, I am quite pleased about the outcome!.

Now, just set, clean and tidy workbench as it will never be again:

Another drafting table setup. Works great for me.

You're just missing the forward slash on the last image tag. It should be: [/img]

Here's my workshop prior to starting my Oriskany...and my stash of one model. Most of what you see is from the last time I built a model about 9 years ago. It was a 1:48 scale B-17 "Chowhound".

That's the way the workbench was when I bought the place but...it turns out to be very handy when I beat my head against the table top in frustration. Image

Hmm, I believe I should do that too, since my head is rather sore by now. :P

After 35 years of model building, I finally took an hour last night to build myself a proper spray booth.

It's nothing fancy: just some card board, an old fan and a couple of layers of furnace filters from Home Depot. It doesn't vent outside, so it doesn't address fumes (haven't hurt me yet...) but it seems to do a good job with paint particles and provides a relatively dust free area for painting.

I put two filters in place: a cheap fiber filter in front with a higher priced dust filter behind it. Top flips down for storage and I'll plan on keeping it covered for dust protection which can be an issue with wood sanding sometimes being done close by.

Total cost was about $5.00 (plus the cost of the new kitchen sink that came in the box).

Hey John,
I couldn't help but notice your booth made from a Kohler box. I worked for Kohler for 12 years until the :censored_2: laid me off last month!!
I like the setup though, simple yet functional. :thumbs_up_1:

I've had to move my workbench to a corner of my tiny basement. My daughter's family has moved in with me. This is probably where it should have been in the first place rather than in the family room, but I was the only one in the house prior to this.

Hey Carl, looks ike a nice little area, if i had the house to myself the entire house would be a modeling shrine,
Hopefully i will find some employment, that will fund my workshop and then i can retire again and maybe work part-time for pocket money.

Happy Modeling
