It would certainly be something different than most of the kits we usually see here so it would be very welcome.johndon wrote:Would a 'Phase II' Iowa along the lines of Rusty White's Tinian count? It would be carrying Harriers![]()

Re: Aircraft Carrier Group Build 2009
I swear I've seen this pic somewhere before, But judging from the pic I'm guessing it's a foreign navy? Almost looks like a non-angled flattop with modern deck lines. Spanish navy?
Just a guess.

CVS-18 or CVS-12. That's a Essex deck.

Definitely late '50s early '60s Essex-class carrier. Which one, I really can't say.

Re: Aircraft Carrier Group Build 2009
Keep guessing guys, at this rate i may have finished her by the time you get it

I may give a clue or two laters
Ok Fun over
Mark got it
USS Lake Champlain CVS-39, SCB-27A never underwent the 125 conversion, as far as i am aware, she was the only one to have the Angled deck markings on an Axial deck.
Happy modeling
John

Re: Aircraft Carrier Group Build 2009
I answered it on another post so I will provide a hint.
All of the other modified Essex Class did not get S-2s before they got Angled decks.
