WOW!!! Thanks for posting. The model of Argentina Maru is of particular interest. Do you have any other pictures of her?

I'm still waiting on Fujimi to issue the plastic kit of Argentina Maru and Brasil Maru as I would like to portray them in pre-war 'cruising colours'.

Motoyuki-san,
My error. The website addresses show the POST war Brasil Maru and Argentina Marus (delivered in 1954 and 1958 respectively). Nice colour schemes none the less

Can you confirm if the pre-war Brasil Maru had a pinky-grey hull as per this photo?

Many thanks

Hello Tony san,
I-400, very enormous. The model is 1/72 and the dimension reach to about 5.5feet! I introduce the builders website as better info :cool_2: .

Hello Jim san,
Here is another Argentina maru model. The color problem is simple. Pre-war Argentina and Brazil mal were applied only black on the hull. This year 2008 is the 100 years anniversary of the start of Japanese emigration to Brazil, but the release of Fujimi kit seems to be late :doh_1: .

Your link to the Kobe modellers' website is now dead. Would you please re-publish the picture of the Argentina Maru for me - this time I'll print it for reference!

I received my model of Fujimi's Brasil Maru just before Christmas and am waiting on the dedicated photo etch set, also issued by Fujimi, before starting.

I have been working on a model of OSK Freighter Himalaya Maru and have to ask a fundemental question - What were the ports of registration of Japanese Merchant vessels - Yokohama I can guess - but were there others? and did specific companies use specific ports?

Any help would be appreciated

OK, please go to the link below;

Sorry, I don't know the port of resistration to Himaraya maru. That of all ocean freighters belonged to OSK before WW2 were Osaka at least. Aside from liners, most of merchant ships seems to have resistrated with companies' specific port.

Motoyuki-san,
Thanks for posting the pictures - interesting to note that the colour inside the vents on the model was blue versus the red shown in the box art for Brasil Maru. Were they different?

If Osaka was the OSK port of registration, am I right in assuming that the registration port for NYK ships was Yokohama?

Hello Jim san,
 :sorry: I had missed your post!

The port of resistration to most of NYK's ships is Tokyo. And, I also had wondered if the inside of ventilator was painted blue. Probably that is mistake.
