Orb, the numbers should be close to the same size. I am sure you are aware of the island differences between the LHD4 and LHD5. I will be doing the LHD7 soon as I finish CVN71. this is my version of the the LHD5, http://www.modelshipgallery.com/gallery ... index.html

that is an EXCELLENT LHD5! I will certainly be looking at those pictures once I start my ship. I'm sure that I've seen it before when browsing through the gallery looking for pictures but I wasn't aware that it was yours. I also checked out all your other ships. You have got an awesome collection and now definitely a new fan

The Mashu class is the only class of UNREP ships with stealthy features. I 'll build them of course but don t know exactly when. Hopefully i 'll finish The three Towada class ships until next weekend. I ve already built seven UNREP ships in the past month so i feel its time to build something different like a carrier. I may start upgrading four of my older carriers with PE nets.
Candidates are CVN-73, CVN-68, CV-66 and CV-62.

Or i may start the SCB-125 Essex class i just got.

Heiko, why don t you build LHD-7 instead of LHD-5???

Starfighter decals produces a set for this ship including the numbers of course.

After i finish the Towadas i ll take some USN-JMSDF ANNUALEX photos and post them.

I ve already built seven UNREP ships in the past month so i feel its time to build something different like a carrier.

Well if you run out of things to do I have several ships that you can work on. Seven ships in a month? I am lucky if I can do seven ships in a year!

Starfighter decals produces a set for this ship including the numbers of course.

After i finish the Towadas i ll take some USN-JMSDF ANNUALEX photos and post them.

I didn't know that there are LHD 7 decals on the market, I'll have to remember that. However, the only reason why it's going to be the LHD 5 (USS Bataan) is that, you know...being half-German and half-Filipino... and I've lived around the Bataan area for a few years, so there is 'some' kind of affiliation. If I ever build another Wasp Class (well, I haven't even started this one yet...) then I think it would be LHD 8...just because it's quite a bit different from the other ships in its class.

Four of them are resin ships. This means few parts compared to a plastic kit. The Towadas were 70% finished. Only few parts to be added and PE.

I just checked the Starfighter's site. Very tempting! You're right John, especially the aircraft decals would be nice to have, and the price isn't too bad either. We shall see if the Starfighter dark side is strong enough to pull me in

I'm definitely looking forward to building a carrier. I have the Nimitz and the Kuznetsov sitting here. However, I'm still a bit reluctant because I'm thinking about illuminating the hangar deck with LEDs, but having no experience with that sort of stuff yet, that might be difficult...maybe I'll learn about that sort of stuff before I start.
Also, I know that once I start a carrier, I'll be at it for weeks, if not months. So I'm starting with the smaller builds, but with the LHD coming up...I guess there is no turning back from taking the next evolutionary step

You are right about using Starfighter decals, they are like doing separate little models for the carriers. I did get a set for the LHD7, that will be fun with to do.

What did you use for the 8-blade props of your Hawkeye ???

I took the GMM air wing PE and doubled the props, I have the other e-2 below deck so that has the plastic props from Trumpeter Kit. Next adventure will be the EA6's then the F-18's I want to lave the F-14s till last. Starfighter gives so many options for the 14s I do not know what I am going to do.
