You could also replace the STIR radar with another (better) director since you now have a 3-D radar on your Perry.

Here is a Saturday afternoon treat, a NATO Amphibious Task Group:

USS Boxer and USS Ingraham make up 2/3 of the ATG.........

Why is there a Lynx on deck you ask??

Thats why-HMS Gloucestor provides the other Escort.

Nice builds ASFC, they look great, you actually have 3 ships of an ATG! UK ships often form part of US/NATO task groups, so leave the 42 there as AAW cover

Heiko two DVDs are underway. Lots of Soviet/Russian navy stuff there including Admiral Kuznetsov videos that you ve never seen before.

I forgot to mention that i modified my shipbuilding program and i ll start next week the two Mashu class AOEs. They are easy kits compared to the Towada class. They are stealthy and much less work is required to finish them.

Looking forward to see you building them. I noticed that you've been focusing on JMSDF ships lately...out of curiosity, how many of their surface fleet have you already built? I'd love to see some pictures of some of their destroyers sometime

I have 98 JMSDF ships including surface ships submarines, auxiliaries mine warfare vessels etc..

I ll post pics of my JMSDF fleet one of each class.

I remember you having built some Atagos a while ago and I have a question. I saw that Pitroad is coming up with a brand new "enhanced" and more detailed (and of course more expensive) kit of the Atagos and it seems that they are phasing out the older ones? Do you have any information about how good these new kits are and if its worth paying the extra money? I surely want to get my hands on at least one Atago destroyer... Thanks!

I have around 30 subs all postwar classes. I have most of the surface warships they have their landing ships minesweepers, auxiliaries,training and UNREP ships. I still need some surface warships and some more auxiliaries to have the entire JMSDF fleet.

There are two "enhanced" Atago kits one with a posibility to show the interior of the helicopter hangar and a second one with some VLS tubes opened and SM-2 missiles. I don t know if they have more "enhanced" kits as future releases. Where have you seen the "enhanced" kits you mention???

These are some photos of a couple of my older kits (i think i finished them in 2001). They are the Hi-Mold resin kits of Haruna and Hiei.
I was never satisfied with how they looked (the kits resin mast looked very very bad ) and more than a year ago bought the dedicated PE set for this class. Five days ago after finishing(almost) the Towada class i started adding PE to these kits. The result makes me atisfied although if i waited a little longer i would have paid less for the same ships since they were released in plastic a couple of years ago.

John, thanks for the kind words, I just received the missing part for the bridge of my CVN 71 from HLJ. So I will hopefully be finishing it shortly. I might have to get a regular surface ship to do next. After working on all the aircraft, I do not know if I have it in me to do the LHD right away. I am still considering how to fill the flight deck. I know I want to use the AV-8 from WEM that I have on hand.
