Assembling PPE

I just recently brought my building to the next level.
I just started adding PE to my ships. It quite a task at first. after about the 3rd ship
it started getting a little easier. ,but that was the easy stuff the railings. I know the
other PE will be harder. ( the super structcher stuff.) I have been pouring through
the gallery trying to find some examples to copy from. I can't seem to pick out
what is PE on these ships. The railing and ladders are obvious. Can someone point me
to a few ships in the gallery where PE is added so I can sorta get the drift about
assembying these parts. The instructions that come with the PE are fine, I can't seem
to make out whats, what.

there are pictures here of Antonio Bonomi's Bismarck unpainted. This is what I saw that made me get my first PE set, and that was the exact ship and PE set I used.

Also, I recommend taking a look at Jim Baumanns gallery page. Most of his are build articles showing the PE along the way.

the first things to get brassed are usually radars, cranes, and catapults. you can spot these right away by the thinner material and finer detail, the plastic radar you usually can't see through. take a look at these areas on the models in the gallery and you will start seeing the difference right away.

the first shot are pe crane and catapult, in the second there are five pe radar dishes, also the bofor shields and rails, mabe not the best examples. but what i have on hand to show you.

also on page four of calling all ship fans in the yamato musashi section their is a link to a detailed musashi similar to what vlad has shown you on the bismarc, many shots of installed but unpainted pe from eduards ultimate set.

Sorry I thought it was a post about Personal Protective Equipment for a moment! Photo-etch is mostly stuff that has holes in, so catapults, bracing girders, lattice masts, ladders, windows etc, but also something that can't be made fine enough in plastic or resin, light AA, aircraft details, anchors, gantreys, detailed doors etc.

The best way to learn how to use photo-etch is with patience and practice, just stick at it.

Buy a Hold n' Fold. It's a great tool to have if you're doing PE.

Thank you fellows for your help.
I am presently doing a 1/700 Arizona and I find it is getting easier to work with
the PE. I don't dread and fear it like I use to anyway.
