General rigging reference ?

Post by oierlings »

Ahoi !!

Is there a good reference how to rig a warship between 1880 and 1945 ? My question may sound a bit funny, but since I'm from Switzerland, I've to travel quite far to find real life references.
Are there good books or sites available ? I own some books of old sailing ships but I could not find anything yet about the mentioned period.

Compared with pictures I've seen on this side, the riggings suggested on most plans supplied with the models, look very basic.

Best regards,
Eric

Greetings dude - have a good look at Jim B's rigging talk through (you'll have to actually read it) its very straight forward, and there is also a ton of other information on rigging on this site, also have a look at the hints and tips page.
