Re: Bismarck 1/100
I would like to ask how you cut those superstructure decks with that compass cutter. I wonder because the curvature of the decks is variable (not a circle) - what is the technique (or may be you have a link to a short tutorial for cutting complex curvatures with compass cutter).
Thank you.

I use the same type of compass cutter for styrene but restricted to circles only . I am intrigued as to how you make use of the cutter. The results of your work are excellent .

Re: Bismarck 1/100
Hallo guys sorry for the dealyed answer.
well i am a draughtsman for 26 years and i understand of drawings and i use it to my purpose of to do a best piece.
so i redraw the Bismarck plan myself adding some parts of one drawing and another plan drawings.
the cutt i s made of the following form:
i think yours asking about the conning tower...yes? ok.
i am try to put one drawing who explain my cutting technics.
i think drawing is all. with good drawing and marks of centers and position you can do much things with the cutter.
but this cutter is only for round cuts. And you are thinking, well how he do it? well you can have in mind some parts of drawings is
a round part but your point mark(center of a compass) can be long of the drawing but exist so part of you see as a elipse can be part of a round arch distant of the drawing.
well i can put one drawing to explain it cause my english is not so good and i can leaving yours confused. i think no.
wait a moment////

Re: Bismarck 1/100
Hi!
Thank you for new pics - your work is really attractive and sorry that we distract you with questions about that compass cutter - but your cutting technique is same interesting as model pictures.
I think I understood you, especially after seeing the drawing. In my understanding you break a complex curvature into small circles (parts of circles), determine those circles centers on the drawing (laying under the part to be cut) and put the compass cutter center into circle centers and make cuts. Right?
I guess it is brillian tip - very simple as all brilliant ideas.
