Phil,
Your Bismark looks great. I will be looking forward to seeing the ship when you complete it.

fine job on the superstructure i bet shaping and cutting those metal plates is a rather tedious job.

Good.
Excellent model, congratulations, to seem real.
There is possibility to get the plans for this model?
There are some books which can get ideas to build this model?
Thank you for your attention.
Continuation of a good job.

Artur Silva

Hello
re trailer
I am not at home at the moment but I will check to see if I have any photos.
It looks like a glider trailer. It has always been a boat trailer.
I purchased it on E-Bay and it had a 1/96 scale carrier as well as a few other boats in it.
I disposed of all the models.
It has softish suspension.
I have had the Bismarck in it many times.
It travels well.

Yes! You can get plans for Bismarck.
Books, Well there quite a few. I have purchased a book for one photo. A lot of them are in either German or Polish. I purchase for the photos mainly. (A photo speaks at least a thousand words.)
There are a few in English.
The internet is also a good place for information.

Re: 1/72 Bismarck
All
Progress has been a little slow.
I have been doing extra time offshore.
I have just returned from the show at Birchwood.
Very good and inspiring.
I have been consolidating the superstructure.
Some of it has been together for 3 years and was getting knocked around.
I have straightened and strengthened it considerably.
I have quite a lot of etch together now and it is awaiting assembly and I spent time today assembling some louvered vents for some of the major intakes on the ship.
The hull is now in the main finished.
The main focus at the moment is the forward superstructure.
Philip.

Now hear this, Now hear this, Now hear this, At the convention I was bribed with 2 chocolate chip cookies from Plils wife, to tell you all, that she did nearly all the black corking on the timber deck, how can some one have such a devoted wife and not give her the praise she deserves,

Simple but effective.

Hi ive been looking 4 a Remote control modle of the Bismark, reasons are because my family sereved aboard her and would like one of my own, and stubled apon this and was amased. This is 1 very important question, and people after this question plz dont Call me Nazi, are you going 2 paint the swastika on her bow/stern, because she wouldnt be the Bismark without them. Srry for all the people offended by this question i was just asking.

Re: 1/72 Bismarck
Hi All
Merry Christmas.
I have been down home in N.Z. for the last 2 months attending to personal business.
I have done quite a lot of work on the ship since my last posting. This is putting the superstructure together. Making superstructure parts, adding detail. Getting detail etched up ............. cranes, boxes, ladders, vents, intakes, scuppers .................. all those things needed to make up a ship.
Thanks for pulling it off the back page Dave!
The Swastika issue!
I will not be using it.
I feel it detracts from the beauty of the ship.
The ship may go to Dortmund one day .............. a definite no-no in Germany!
The crew onboard were mainly serving German Navy ............. not nazis.
My father is still alive .............. he is an X special ops/X craft type person and I would not like to insult him.
That is my first and last statement on this matter.
Regards
Philip

Re: 1/72 Bismarck
I think the Bismarck wouldn't be the Bismarck with the Swastika as most of the time in her most famous (aka only) operation "Rheinbung" the "Fliegerkennung" was painted over (on 22nd May).guest wrote: This is 1 very important question, and people after this question plz dont Call me Nazi, are you going 2 paint the swastika on her bow/stern, because she wouldnt be the Bismark without them.
