Sorry about not having any updates this time fellows .i was real busy finishing homeworks throughout the whole week so that i could have some free time on sunday to enjoy a family trip to Orlando. if you guys haven't been to any of the Seaworlds in the last years make sometime. i had such a good time there. the animal shows are phenomenal.. Shamu, Shamu  those whales they got there are pretty well trained and smart too and if you decide to check the penguins which you will do bring some personal air freshener :heh: fish smell reeks the entire place.. real fun though

Jose, I see you and your brother are wearing your hi-vis safety gear. While at the South Pole, you should have fixed the road sign as the distance between there and Brisbane is only 6960 km's, not 14,212 km's.

I was depressed last night, so I rang lifeline. Got a call centre in
Afghanistan and told them I was suicidal.

They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

Too bad you didnt see us with our helmets on  Kym im going to give you partial credit on your response :heh: even though is right the sign doesnt have to be corrected. You see, you calculated the distance from Brisbane, Australia to the South pole http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/d ... =47&p2=468 however the kms location on the sign is not referring to that one but to Brisbane, CA, http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/d ... 224&p2=468 i know, i know why didnt they add CA next to it .. beats me .

There's a Brisbane, California? How original. From the Google map, it looks like a suburb of San Francisco.

glueing degaussing cables is really time consuming guys, i think from all little details on the hull the degaussing cable is IMO the most annoying thing to finish. i started it yesterday and i'm not even done yet i did get to finish one side but i was hoping to finish the whole damned thing today but i can't keep it up my eyes already hurt from all the stress.. stay tuned for more next sunday

Hi guys i bet you weren't expecting me back so soon  i'm doing this today because i won't have any time on sunday, my Managerial's final is next week and i have to go over 10 chapters and i really want to be ready.

once you get to the deck pictures you'll see i'm asking for help there, i need a generic plastic set that brings any kind of air vents, deck winches anything in 1/700 that can be used to fill up all those hole, i know i can scratchbuild some capstans using rods of styrene but i need more options and if you ask me what happened to the original parts all i can say is i don't have the slightest idea. i put them inside a bag the day i was working on the deck and it seems by the end of the day when i was wrapping it up i must've thrown it away or something, any help is alway appreciate it TIA.

Jose, she is coming along great! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

For the capstans and winches, check out BattleFleetModels, they should have what you are loooking for.

Thanks Bob, i came from the website and there is a great selection of capstans and windlasses, i'm going to wait a bit longer, if no one else chimes in i'll contact Mr. Abbot and place an order of those he got there.

Hi Jose,

I concur with Bob about Battlefleet winches and capstans, they are great. Regarding the air vents (mushroom type), Clipper Models make some brass ones in various sizes. You can order them from HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/product/CLP1902 .

Keep up the good work :thumbs_up_1:

The Deck looks great in general! Really pleasing,
I am really curious about how it will be to deal with it.
There is a real-wood-deck available for my kongo project as well, but i hesitate to purchase, because i fear problems regarding the thickness of the deck.
It really looks darn great, but i am still not convinced because of some detail problems.
How does the deck work at the edge to the flight deck? Is there a big step/edge now?
And i think there will be some issues around the bollards for example. Now the Deck level seem to be higher then the bollard level.
Are those concerns neglectable because nevertheless its just looking great in general?

Gilbert as soon as i'm done here i'll try to order two sets of mushrooms vents, mid and small sizes. HLJ also has the big ones but from experience i know i'm going to end up cutting those so better stay away from them and go for the other two sizes which i'm sure they are gonna look great and hopefully 16 vents will do the trick, $13 a set is a bit stiff if you ask me. thanks

wooden thickness is not easy to get rid off unless you go for a decal and to tell you the truth i'd rather stick with a wooden deck like this one, i didn't measure it but from the looks of it i'm going to say is at least half a mm. i see no problems with the edge between the plane deck and wooden deck since the rear superstructure goes right on the middle of them two, sorry for not using the piece of the plane deck i was in a rush when i took the shots. hope the shots can answer your questions and about the bollards, this is something i didn't do on my Yamashiro with the Shinsengumi deck but i'm sure it could be done how about leveling it with styrene?
