I had an interesting phone call last week regarding my uncle's death. Seems there's a book being written about Lt.jg Deiter Dengler whom was a member of VA-145 (a SPAD Squadron aboard the Ranger) and was shot down in Feb 1966. Anyways, the author contacted me as he needed some info on my uncle's landing mishap which he plans to add in the book. I hooked him up with the Plane Captain and, had spoken to the guy at length about his book. From the way it sounds, I'll have to get a copy of it when it comes out!!
Deiter's story is pretty well known & this guy who's writing the book was aboard the Ranger at the time, knew Deiter fairly welland, plans to bounce back & forth from Deiter's experience, and the ongoing duties of the Ranger.

Ok, just thought I'd share this tidbit with y'all

I'm sure Nick, Ed will do a great job on her. I think the Ranger Foundation will make every effort to see it as a great job.

All lifts are up Red. Sorry I aint been online in a spell. No modem at home (went FUBAR) and,
for the past 2 & a half months I been busy cleaning up my father's house for him
His house burnt down on 9/10/2009 due to faulty wiring in the neighbor's house. :doh_1:

So, needless to say, I haven't had time to do any modeling ina spell :Tirade: Hopefully soon since I'm
almost done with the work here. If all goes well, I'll be done this weekend & then it's all about cutting up
the scrap metal & hauling it off
