Good luck Wednesday! My new (PCP) Primary Care Provider who's a micro-biologist says Scotch will cure anything. Suggest you put in a good store of it. :woo_hoo:

Thanks Nick for thinking about me, the shipyard has been shut for over 12 months, the covers are over Duane for the time being.
I have a project in the house that im on with, the whole bathroom needs revamping, we are putting in a walk in shower cubical and new shower, we are finding getting in and out the bath difficult, hence the work.
The weather here in the u/k is wet and windy, it does not help arthritus in the fingers, so it will be some time before im building again, keeping an eye on all the good builds on the site. :heh: :heh: :heh: :thumbs_up_1: :wave_1:

I asked Dave Wooley a similar question:

What kinds of glue are you using for your builds? Does the choice of glue depend upon the material from which the fittings are made of? For example, what kind of glue did you use to attach the liferafts of the 20mm mounts on the deck?

I hope everything is going well... Have not seen a post for quite some time :wave_1: :wave_1:

Wood to Wood, white waterproof PVA.

Litho to wood, High strength contact adhesive.

Litho to Litho, contact adhesive or thick super glue.

The backroom boys are working hard on the paperwork ready for the build, also the photographic department. :heh: :heh: :heh: :thumbs_up_1: :wave_1:

I was reviewing this build as well as the Moffet build and I have a question I need to ask about the shape of the hull.

Both hulls were built using a plug made from the ships lines... The hull was then filled and sanded again and again, so as to give it a smooth and clean surface.

By this method, you added material on the surface of the hull and also "messed up" the lines of the hull...

Did you try to avoid filler build up at the hull?

Did you, by any means, recalculate or check the hull shape?

For example, you can make a negative shape of each of the hull sections and check whether it fits all along the tranverse of the hull...

I am mainly interested in the shape and not the dimensions...

When I do the plug I reduce the rib shape,s by the amount that I am going to add on top of the plug, that is about 3/16 th of an inch, you dont need to make new templates, you can see the shape better by hand and eye.
