Astounding build Jose, your level of detail is mind-boggling.

I was depressed last night, so I rang lifeline. Got a call centre in
Afghanistan and told them I was suicidal.
They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

Ah, but Gilbert - if he were to be superdetailing a man-sized model like this, he would need to be a different kind of plastic surgeon! Thankyou, please, try the veal and tip your waitresses.
Seriously, Jose, you're doing some massively awesome work. Looking forward to seeing more progress!

Re: Oh no!! another japanese battleship
i almost had a seizure when i saw the bottom hull looking like that, thought about wrapping the whole thing up and calling it but i probably wouldn't have been able to sleep after witnessing such mess. i feel more relieved now that the worst it's over though.

Re: Oh no!! another japanese battleship
Hi guys, smooth sailing so far all that is left to do now is the hull's weathering. Boot topping met my spectations one more time i'm real happy with the way it came out but i can tell you this as long as you use Tamiya's tape nothing should go wrong.. i thought about leaving the tape and finish the weathering i just couldn't resist
i always get this feeling i must satisfy, everytime i finish painting a hull i must remove the tape right away to see how it ended up. Wooden deck is a beauty regardless of what people say about showing plank's butt end IMO.. enjoy the shots

She is coming up very nicely Jose. I like your subbtle weathering BTW. As you depicted her as a flagship, she has to stay in good (if not pristine) condition

Re: Oh no!! another japanese battleship
Much obliged friends!! tomorrow i'll try to finish up the amidship structure after this she should be almost done , i want to add some extra things i don't don't if i should add figures this time... my idea all along has been to leave it without water. if i do it she'd be the first model in my collection like that.
i'll weather her. how old was she at that time 21 years old right? old lady must've had some wrinkles by then they just had it camouflaged
Jose
i know Gilbert i thought about it before weathering the Pagoda and then i said to myself the heck with itGilbert wrote: BTW. As you depicted her as a flagship, she has to stay in good (if not pristine) condition![]()

Re: Oh no!! another japanese battleship
hey guys
just another sunday update, too bad i couldn't do much today well at least what i planned to finish.. i'll have to order new fresh paint tomorrow otherwise i'm stuck. All the ladders have to be retouched same goes for some bulkhead doors and that last bottle of paint i got is not good right now.
Gilbert, the only way i could make it up and even with you for following my build-up for so long and being my #1 fan
is by using one of your crysanthemums. thanks again.
enjoy the shots

Re: Oh no!! another japanese battleship
Jose, I really enjoyed the shots. I love these much detailed main turrets. They remind me the first "Tora, Tora, Tora" scenes when I first watched the movie in 1970....Nearly 40 years ago
. Thanks for using our IJN crest, I think it gives an additional touch of realism on your forthcoming masterpiece
