I couldn't make out its actual size until I saw the bridge windows in the second picture - that is definitely a big ship. I doubt that you're thinking about adding additional VLS cells, right?

The ship is a bit smaller than an Iowa class battleship. I m not that crazy 512 VLS cells are enough..... i think

Santa was really nice this year. I won a couple of 1/700 resin ships on ebay. The Italian version of FREMM and the Royal Netherlands navy LCF

What is the brand?
And what is the avarage cost of it?

That's looking nice, John! Pretty brave after seeing Vlad's dio, huh?

I don't want to burst your bubble, but I really don't think that the original 688 class boats had the ability to surface through the ice and I really don't think that the fairwater planes could rotate the whole 90 degrees. 637 class boats' planes could do that, but not 688. (I'd be very, surprised if I'm wrong.)

The later 688 flights had hardened sails for breaking through the ice. I was on the 704 and it wasn't able to do that and then I was on the 757 which had the hardened sail. The 757 eventually did the ice cap thing several years after I left her. It is one thing that I wish that I could say that I have done..........going under the ice.

I'm not sure if your dio is based on a historical event, but you may want to research that.

Nice idea there John. I was thinking of something similar but with three Sturgeon class subs. I was inspired by a photo i ve seen on Navsource.

Very interesting dio there, John - it's quite a piece to be certain with the two subs up out of the ice like that. The extras really add to it, I have to say.

No Bubble burst Carl, my fault for assuming that the 688 was capable of all that the earlier Sturgeon class was, i will just substitute the 688 for a Sturgeon, i actually started it before seeing Vlad's dio, i am on the lookout for a 1/700 Polar bear, i can then do the dio showing the bear on the sub.

I can imagine it is a nice break from aircraft, John - I'm working on something in a slightly bigger scale in the aircraft field right now, the Chinese J-10 heavy interceptor proposal from the 70's... so far so good, and she's coming along quite nicely.

A view of all four Arsenal ships under construction. Most of the weapons and electronics are there. I have added some PE from the GMM USN/ JMSDF set but more has to be added (25 mm and 20mm guns for close-in defence etc...)
I 'll use parts from the Pitroad PE-139 set which is one of the most usefull sets ever released.

I saw a tutorial ones, make a box out of LEGO brick's, fill it whit that blue stuff *put the model in first* and then take out the model, and fill it whit that yellow stuff...

To me, 45 alone in one year is unreal! I managed to finish, if I'm not mistaken... one single ship in 2009 ...and have been working on number 2 ever since. Hopefully that number will be a little higher this year after I manage to finish my LHD. I think then I'll focus a little more on smaller ships that are easier and faster to build.

And that line up of Arsenal ships looks pretty intimidating, too bad we won't see those in real life.

Slowly but surely work on my LHD is nearing completion.

I've started to work on the airwing. I'd like to depict a busy deck with troops loading the helos for an ongoing mission. So I "opened" the back of the CH-53 and CH-46 and added the ramp for the troops. As for the Harrier and the Cobra, I sanded off the "cockpits" completely and intend to replace them with a clear piece after they've been painted. However, I really have no idea how the cockpits of the other helos can be depicted nicely, so if anyone has an idea, I'd love to hear it

Now mass production can begin. Most of the rest will not have as many details, since they will just be standing next to each other in a parking position, making many details superfluous, since they won't be visible.
