Re: not a ship
I had enough of building ship models.... so I decided to make a ship of a different kind... Manga's Gundam Zeon's Space battle cruiser - Musai. Enjoy it very much and did not take long to do!

Re: not a ship
OK, I can play too...
I call it "The Bonneville Express",

The car; 1953 Studebaker built as a Salt-flat racer. The camper is the AMT 'Open road Camper' and the truck is a 1960 Chevy. I kitbashed the crewcab several years ago.
Eventually these will get the Dio base they deserve...
I aslo dabble in armor. This is an OOB Tamiya 1/35. (Errors and all)

Re: not a ship
To take a break from ships I started building armor models too, started with 1\35 scale then found I liked 1\48 better, I could finish a kit in a day or two, as opposed to a ship which takes weeks or months (or in the case of all but one of them, years, as Im still not done with them!!) So here are a few pictures of a M4Sherman and a Jeep I built before I left the states almost two years ago:
Tamiya Jeep built using the Hauler Airborne armor set

Sherman and Jeep together

Tamiya Sherman, I cant remember the name of the company that made the wading stacks

Re: not a ship
Another one is almost completely finished.
Some more work at the cargo bay and the tires is required. Figures and some light dirt/dust. A easy thing to overdo, so i give my self time.

And this one is currently at the bench. Its a 32nd scale german recon airplane of WWI.
WingnutWingss LVG C. VI

I can really recommend these wingnutwings - kits. A real pleasure to build and amazing clean manufactured.
The LVG catched my attention because the whole fuselage appears in a bare wood finish. I found a combination of
handpainted wood grain und glaze technique to render realistic wood.
The Engine and metal parts went, and gonna went much more into a Alclad II Orgy.
The ultimate fun......

This is my latest What If. I'm still waiting for parts for the big Yamato build, so I decided to do this in the meantime

Ok... I can see two A7 bodies... What is in the middle? It looks like an F-4 nose but cannot make it out...
Tons of armament I see... Show us some more...

Re: not a ship
The middle is actually yet another a-7 with an f-111 nose cone and the radar bit from an f-4 in 1/32 scale. The guns in the noses are actually from a gundam warrior in 1/100 scale. So yeah they can be the 30mm, but the single gun is the 50mm cannon. YEAH BABY !!!!!!
I've actually been working on the bombs and some JATO's so not to much to show right now but I will keep yall informed.
On another note I love the figure vignettes. Are those oil paints? any way great job

Thanks for that - all done with acrylics, although I did use oils for washes on the wall and the rock face.prowannab wrote: On another note I love the figure vignettes. Are those oil paints? any way great job![]()

Re: not a ship
Glad to see I'm not the only one who builds other than ships. I finished these two last year as a "break" from the more serious ship modeling.

Re: not a ship
Thanks, guys. The Raider looks better in person, I did a lot of shading with the Alcad metal paint that doesn't show in the photos.
