my port crane

A new year ,a new member here,with my "port crane"
This 1/700 port crane's PE designed by my friend is the first type we have finished,and there would be more types in the future.
It's not the final version of this type,but I also want to share it to everyone who are interested in building a port DIO...

First time I have ever seen anything like that, and judging by the amount of work gone into producing it, at a guess I'd say it'll probably be cheeper to buy a real one, some time ago there was something simular to this where someone built a set of buildings and asked for comments (thought they would be selling them, had all fingers crossed) and nothing ever came of it, the harbour crain is without doubt fantastic, the photo where its shown finished can't beat that, but off the top of your head IF you were to sell something like this, how much would it be ?

That is a brilliant bit of photo-etching and the big question for me if you produce it for sale is "Are you going to produce a 1:350 version"?

BTW Alec, the other cranes you are referring to are of US design and this looks to be an early Japanese style. But I could be wrong.

Actually, that one looks more like the English styled Hammerhead crane. But then again, the Japanese did copy almost all things naval from the British.

It is very difficult to find good plans or picts about this subject. A good Japanese dio will be a famous id�e, there is a long time I�m searching plans and picts about Japan locos and trains at 1939/1945 period.
