Every time I see a picture of the Admiral, he seems to look younger to me! Don't know how he does it, but I admire him even more for that than for his models!
Looks like a fine ship there, interesting to see this concept of club meetings etc. I'm planning to subscribe into a club too, but the closest club is an "all around" club, building everything, with few ship builders. I doubt there's anything like your club around here... (and definately not of your level with Jim Woods, Ron and you in one club, difficult to beat!)

Hi Roel, Its the hormorne treatment that im on for the prostrate cancer, must be makeing me look younger, 72 this year.

Dave and I are the lower modellers in the society, we also have Edgar Hodges dio,s, Gordon Brooks ships in ceramics, Harry Barlow he builds Brass ships, John Hollins he built the round russian ship.

I wish we had such a club in Greece... Unfortunately wingy things is the dominant theme here and armour next...

From the looks at the Admiral's face, I think that he is thinking that the carrier needs an escort of some kind... A cruiser of some short maybe...

Hi Nick Yes in the UK there are many model boat clubs. In our area alone , between Liverpool and Manchester there are over 30 clubs some with hundreds of members. Most are focused on working R/C modeling. For warships nationally there is the Surface Warships Association and the Scottish equivalent and for just about any other form of R'C boating there is the MPBA Model Power boat Association of the UK and local and area association . Our own Model ship Society meet bi-monthly at the Boat Museum Ellesmere Port and we have a wide and varied maritime interest base but are meetings are more generally centered on the construction techniques with guest speakers either model makers or those with a special maritime or engineering interest . This is the only location in the UK were model ship builders have a close up and personal grand stand view of all kinds of ships passing through the Manchester ship canal which flows right next to our meeting rooms at the Museum and then into the river Mersey . Perhaps our interest stems from historical links with the sea and the area still retains some form of ship construction. But there are reminders every were of our maritime heritage . This is one photo that was taken from our meeting rooms!

This is really wonderful... I envy all of you... I used to come to Liverpool for the past couple of years to watch LFC matches, but would easily skip a couple of matches to attend a couple of your meetings... Unfortunately this season I have not yet attended a match, mainly due to the many deployments...
