Hello Mick,

shouldn't be that difficult. Navigation lights will the ordinary two top lights, red and green side light and one stern light. For carrier operations you'll have to check the ColRegs, I remember there are some particular lights described for carriers doing operations, so Kuz should be complying with those lights. On the other hand I don't really remember if these are obliged for carriers or only applicable to RN carriers ( I remember something along those lines for submarine lights) since we don't really see them every day I can't really remember what those carrier lights were though...

Quite something!
So are you going to "open" the openings? Or will you keep them closed with some black painted or other plate behind it?

I'm planning to have the elevators work and the doors also. Had a look the other day and also plan to have a full hanger deck with turn tables in the deck and lights. Just wish I had more interior hanger deck pictures, but will make the best of what I have. Should be interesting anyway.
When the ship is more complete it will make a good storage area for the aircraft needed on board. I plan to have various layouts on the ship. Helo deck display, Rough Water display, Fleet review display and maybe an all types of Russian aircraft display, or a general run display. Keep the people coming back for more with the various layouts..

This model will be my first model with lighting all round. All of my models so far have been day runners only. I hope to have hanger lights, elevators, Hanger doors working, not to mention what is on the deck or superstructure. For me steep learning curve but one step at a time.

Yes the real ship has them. I don't know of any other carrier that has this idea.

What did you use for the inside? Don't tell me it's styrene because then you used more styrene than I used on all my ships together (I think about 10 times more in fact!) or is it plexi? Will be very nice to see this when it's finished!

Your correct its Styrene plastic and more to come, the hanger will also have a roof and then the deck over that. Its easy when you can buy big sheets of styrene plastic, and boy I need them.
Today I start fine sanding the hull ready for painting I hope sometime in the next 2 weeks.

The model is being built in my garage and it's winter here so I tend not to do so much on building this time of year. I give is a few weeks and I will be back in the swing of things again. need a final fine sanding on hull then some minor attachments. Fingers crossed painted before to long.
