Calling all PT Boat Tender fans

Post by Sr. Gopher »

Does anyone know what modifications were made to the ex- LST and ex- C-1A type cargo ships underwent to become PT Boat Tenders? I have some pictures of them (Navsource), but only 3 of the C-1A and about 12 nearly indentical shots of the LST types. I don't have much on the stern section of the C-1A, but the bow looks like it never underwent a change. The LST however, looks like it is completely different, other than the Bow Door. I need any information you guys can give, mostly because I'm not really good at any research.
Current builds:
Hobby Boss 1/700 Type VIIC U-Boat for my AH

Planned builds:
3 more 1/700 AH submarines

The only thing that I can suggest is to visit http://www.ptboats.org/index.html and join the Message Forum, there.

Post an inquiry about photos and info about those types of PT Boat Tenders. Several of the members, there, have helped me with my USS Oyster Bay AGP-6 model.
