lack of posting doesn't equal lack of work on beast -just not much to show
for effort

rapidly realising my skills at this are not as good as many that I see -certaintly i will get a few down the nose looks when I
debut it in public -but i am getting slowly better.
lack of tools and stuff a real handicap -budget very tight at the moment

been building gun tubs, and re built the bridge - which is a lot better now
You live and you learn i suppose

And back to it - these strengtheners for the gun tub ect -man, what a slow job this is.

I am still waiting for the motors -probably mid April at the moment -in a container somewhere on the planet!

Can anyone direct me to a guide on installing propeller shafts correctly?

This is starting to look pretty good!
This is a very good project to get your skills to a much higher level.
Just hold on, keep working on her and finish her.
If you only accept those parts that look very good, and try to build a part that doesn't comply you will at ones make it as you want it to be.
This is pretty much what i'm doing with my Well Enhancer as well.

It's a pitty you were not able to get to the Sydney Model Boat Show. I see your coming along nicely. Keep plugging along on your model.

I may drop by in the next few weeks. If you like I could bring my model and show what you missed and might be able to help you with the shafts on your model.
During the model show I got some good advice about my hanger deck and plan to have a full hanger deck on my model starting construction VERY soon.

That is some good news Mick. If you find good pics that'll be a great addition to the model. Will you also make an entry into that hull, so that you can open up the deck to show that hangar?

Great job on that Yamato Herbie, the hull came out real nice and the superstructure along with those guns are a real topper!

I see that your work is continuing on my floor as I read that if you have problems with 460mm guns.
I solved the problem - you go to this website http://www.master-model.pl/, and write what you need he will cost you � .179 .- set 155mm 127mm 25mm �.250.- and you make them into three pieces but you have to do my name Rolf from italy
these are all of my guns are Yamato and brass, I advise you to do them in aluminum, because you have problems to handle up and down the guns.

I do not problem, since I have a hydraulic system for all 460mm guns

but I need your help postresti give me the codes of propellers and propeller shafts, and where you ordered

I want to ask you where are you from Europe or America?


if I manage to build 70% for 2011 here in Italy for 2 days there will be a demonstration of model would be nice to put both the two yamato in water

I have seen your guns somewhere before on the net -very nice!
(way outside my reach at the moment -i will be turning my own up)

For the motors and shafts I simply wrote to Loyal hanna dockyard

LHdockyard@aol.com -and simply asked what did they have for a 1/73 yamato -and recommended?
I have not recieved motors yet -still coming, but the shafts/motors are perfect-700 mm by 5 mm dia -cost was very good too.

Commencing a bit I am really looking forward to tackling -the 4.7 inch AA guns
here is the 1/200 model.
I am having a wonderful time(not) becoming a gun expert trying to figure the beasts out -got it licked now.
best thing -wife is going away next week for a week -beauty -a week of modelling here indoors, not with the mozzies in the shed!

This is a warts and all model - lots of cleaning up to do here -base plates built, and two barrells. As this is a 90% plus plastic build, and because the budget just does not stretch -i am doing the old lets use a drill as a lathe trick, and sandpaper to give a taper.


more after easter -lots of building going on (for not too much visible progress! - I've has a lot of reducing big bits of plastic into little bits of scrap type week -but thats what learning is all about!
(This is still deeply satisfying and fun)

Mine is steadily progressing -i am building the 4.7 inch guns at the moment -a gazzillion bits on each one
have been delayed by a lack of motor problem -Loyahanna dockyards supplier has let him down badly.
So, now with the plane/volcano thing -who knows!
Still -great fun building away -photos when the guns are fully finished.

What scale the yamato in photo?
(can't come to see -will be bush with youth group)
