Early US catapults

Is anyone aware of any book or drawings available that show ANY early (i.e. pre WWII) US Navy catapults? ? I see that Floating Drydock has later versions for both battleships and crusiers for sale but I was hoping to find drawings of earlier versions. Any ideas please? I'm even interested in the "flying off" versions tested on the earlier battleships.
