Jane's Fighting Ships

Post by Joe Meredith »

Hi All,
Just have a quick question - when did JFS start using colour photos, does anyone know?
Thanks

If you are referring to the colour section in the front of JFS, early 1990s, I think 1991-92.

I have been out since 2000, so I don't know if they have gone to colour throughout since.

Last one I saw at the local library (before the culled their selection and got rid of all of them :censored_2: ) was the 1997-1998 volume and it only had a color selection of about 10 pages or so near the front. Rest of the book was all black and white. Considering the size and price of the book an all color version would cost too much to make and probably wouldn't sell as well.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies - I have bought a copy of the 1998/99 edition and that does feature some photos in colour - the 1986/87 doesn't. Wonder if 98/99 was the first to feature colour in the main body of the book. I don't have any other editions except from the 1970's.

Cheers
Joe
