I am going to build an LST 542-class (1944). I wanted to build in 1/72 or 1/96 scale. Before I start the project. I need to know in what scale I can get the 40 and 20mm guns in as I do not want to build them.Thanks all help will be good!

They are available in both scales.
Bill Waldorf uses them on his 1/96 model of the USS Indiana:

Ron Horabin built a USS Moffet in 1/72 that also uses preavailable 20mm and 40mm:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=8912&start=60 (shows the 40mm being built at the bottom of the page)
