Looking for plans of IJN Mutsuki class

Post by valkyriepm »

Hi! Anyone know of plans of the Mutsuki class on 1/200 scale or larger? I own the Gakken Mutsuki book but the plans has no hull section. Thanks!

Miyukikai lists a plan for the Uizuki...

131 ?? Uizuki ? Maybe more contemporary...? But I only see
two listings for Uzuki,.... 1905, and 1925-6 for the Mutsuki Class.

I drew up some plans for the Minekaze Class DD when we were looking to
build up a few ships in 1/72nd scale. They were a class below the Mutsuki, the
Minikaze, Kamikaze class DD, but it might work for you,... I can reduce a set down
if you need a smaller scale. :cool_2:

Thanx Umi! As difficult as it gets to get my hands on a Mutsuki class plan, maybe I'll accept your offer. In fact I was thinking on build it on 1/200 or 1/72, so.... interested. Please let me know what you think.

I think, and that is a difficult task,... That if you have enough drawings for the Mutsuki class from
your book, that you could use the frame plans that I have drawn for the Minekaze, and add the extra
"six feet"(at scale) to at mid ship, and get the proper length for a Mutsuki Class.

You could then use your plans to set the focsle length and the positions of th the bridge and other supersturcture.
I think the focsle is slightly longer on the Mutsuki vs the Minekaze class.

Is there any way I could adapt the plans talked about in this thread to do a Kamikaze class destroyer?

That really doesn't help me as Pacific Front Hobbies doesn't have a set of plans for a Kamikaze class destroyer.

Yes the plans for the three ships Minekaze, Kamikaze and Mutsuki are all very similar.
It would just be a matter of managing deck fitting and minor details.
My friends version is supposed to be a Kamikaze class.
Mine was supposed to be the Minekaze class, the Akikaze.
