Hey Friends,

Well, this sbs is now done, because i was able to finish "the seal" (Seehund) finaly.
We have a massive picture flood ahead, because this one here is cumulative update and a finish.
Enjoy!

Image
Steel rope and chain was primed with surfacer and metallized with Me Metal polishing colors,
followed by some pigments.

Image
Detail painting at the sail, a.k.a conning tower.

Image
The rust streaks are executed in two colors here and there.

Image
Spongue technique combined with washes and drybrushing is the main part of the weathering here.

Image
The impact of filters on a more or less monochrome surface. Its always about combination.
Did you notice? We have slightly green touch att the lower sides of the hull.

Image
Weathering at the sails port side.

Image
The torpdeos was now integrated into the heavy weathered appearance of the model.
MIG Grease and stain mixture came in pretty handy, even when completely alienated.

Image
Kehrwieder: Return home soon! (Safe)

And then: FINISHED!

The final pictures of the model can be found here:

Fantastic work!
We like our history sanitized and theme-parked and self-congratulatory, not bloody and angry and unflattering. - Jonathan Yardley
