Cheers Jim,
If you think I've missed any books of high value please email me the titles and I'll either have them or I can put them onto the list with a picture etc. I want the list to be comprehensive
My idea is to do British Aircraft Carriers next, then Cruisers, then destroyers etc!!! when I get time!!! lol and then other navies etc.
Regards
Laurence

HI there I have all 7 of those "to sail no more" books but didnt include them here because they deal with the ships being broken up or destroyed.
They are published by Maritime Books and are a good pictorial reference I suppose though @ 15.99 I thought their retail was a bit high, luckily I managaed to pick most of mine up for 5 each in a sale!!! lol!!!

For "out of the box" builders these books dont add too much (Though there is one excellent picture of HMS Roberts), but they do show general construction of RN ships and equipment (Hmm, the remaining battleships do get a lot of attention though). For a scratchbuilders they are VERY useful.
If only I could get a few good pictures of the HACS Mk III system...
BTW, do you thinks it's a good idea to add the monitors? As they're also big gun vessels.... and while I, at it, perhaps you could throw it into a smell website with mini reviews as I did here:

I did post both the best 2 monitor books i had the Buxton and Kemp ones on the last forum with pics, I'll see if i can find it again and will add it to the list.
I would like to do a website but then again it's the time factor for writing a review of all the 600 warship books and profiles I own!!! lol

Hi Laurence,
How do you organize your collection? Does it take up much room in the house? Since I live in a 2 bedroom condo, space is at a premium and I stick the books where they fit, but would love to organize them better someday.
Are the ones you're selling off duplicates, or are you downsizing?
Looking forward to the rest of your lists, cruisers, destroyers, etc.
Best regards,
Ted

Hi Ted,
My house is quite small also with just 2 bedrooms, but I've managed to get my entire collection into my bedroom onto a custom fit shelfing arrangements I did over the summer and a large book case and several cupboards also!!! lol!! If anything doesnt fit like all my models they go into the loft!!! lol!!!
The stuff I'm selling at the moment are duplicates that I've collected somehow!!!
Hopefully I'll get all the man o war books on ebay tonight and then I'll do the Profiles and then the more expensive books like Raven & Roberts cruisers book which I have 2 of!!! and a few other rare ones also over the coming days!!!
Cheers
All the best from a snowy England today!!!

TTTTTTTTTT
Sounds good Laurence, I may need to come up with some custom shelving myself. The Lacroix book on Japanese cruisers needs a shelf all to itself, practically.
I've been looking for a copy of the Raven/Roberts cruiser treatise! if I can buy one of yours, that would mean I just needed the Burt 1919-1939 book to have a complete collection. It will be tough with the exchange rate as bad as it is for Americans at the moment, but I'll see what I can come up with.

Re: British Battleships Reference Book list MK2 Modified!!!
A piece of biiiig work!
Have you ever consider to include:
Rene Gregers' Battleships of World, and
Siegfried Breyefs' Marine-Arsenal Sonderheft Band No. 19 Hood
I don't know those books but looks like should be something related to British BBs
Morza Statki I Okrety, Biblioteka Magazynu 2 : Biate Stonie HMS Courageous, Glorious, Furious. Magnum X
http://www.warshipmodels.com/~users/Loz ... rofile.jpg
Very often it takes place the Foreigners interpretate Polish "L" with oblique little stroke as "T" (in words Biale Slonie ie, White
Elephants). That is the reason I omit these stroke when hand write my Name (it contains this awful obliqued L) for someone abroad,
leaving common L which sounds much closer to obliqed L (pronounced like English W) than T.
So the best way to avoid confusion is omit all those little tails below a,e and little points and apostrophes above c,o,s,z and leave
"nude" latin letters.

I swear I put the Rene Greger book in as I have it.
The Marine Arsenal one I admit I forgot because I sold mine.
I will try and add these ASAP
Also if anyone notices anymore books spefically about British Battleships or Battlecruisers then please post here I want this to be a comprehensive list for modellers.
Cheers
