Still getting on with the railings and adding tiny bits of detail here and there. Need to stop soon I think...it is getting a bit ridiculous...

Another day or two should see her done. I am going to leave the rigging until later, after I have had my weekend residential course at Jim B's learning how to rig with sprue. I can do it, but nowhere near the fineness that Jim gets and will make a huge difference to my own modelling.

The Battleship HMS Hood, 1901 in the Med... Black, white and buff colour scheme... Combrig, 700 scale

Bit different!



Then following that, the Battlecruiser HMS Hood, 1941, 507B, Trumpeter 700 scale, nice and simple painting wise... but with the Flyhawk superdetail set, which is giving me a migrane just looking at it...

Definitely a worthy project. You just have to love those side-by-side funnels This paint scheme will be a nice break from camouflage. I also took a break from camouflage and started a 1/350 Yamato with an aftermarket wooden deck. I don't have to paint the deck and I only have one color of grey to apply. That's what I call lazy on my part

It's what I call sensible!

It's easy to forget what these multi-coloured camouflage schemes are like to do, so following your Queen Elizabeth I can well understand... Just getting the major components done is the easy part... its all the other stuff you have to consider, I think anyone with any sense is going to take a break from it... or do some camouflage with some straight lines, good documentation and good reference points.

Hood is going to give me a load of different problems, but it will be a big change.
