hi richard, the saw will not get all the tiny bubbles out ,but it will move air out that gets stuck in under cuts and such.

Hi Russ,

Your castings look brilliant, well done :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

I am not sure I am game enough to try anything like that yet and I don't know where to find the materials here in Brisbane.

yea, first day of spring, and we got some sun 2 days in a row :woo_hoo: .i built the torpedo tubes over the last few days.they are balsa skinned with styrene,a couple of foto-etch hatchs i had kicking around and brass tube, the ladder rungs are thin copper wire.sheer will have a fair number of these types of ladders and i am going to make a jig to drill the holes and one for bending the rungs

thanks guys, the only thing that looks a little off, and i mean very little is the over lap on the cover.i have one pic showing this and it is shoot from the front,i asummed it carried on to the back.andrew it is a pounce wheel from floating drydock .it comes with 15 or 21 teeth per in" cost about $10.00.richard i never thought of showing a torpedo head,i do not know if they show or not, can anyone confirm this.

Hi Russ :wave_1:
Looking at photo's of Admiral Hipper's torpedo launcher ,you can not see any of the warhead sticking out but head on you would .I belive they kept the tubes loaded .Best way is to find a photo .

hello all,it's been awhile since i have tryed to solder anything.i have try'd to find paste solder to no avial,so its still the old heat and dab method.the radar screens on the directors are the most finiky things i have ever done.after much cursing and ?:''$%^.they stuck together where they are supposed to be,more or less  .all the brass on the directors and radar are soldered.some joints good. some not so good :heh:

Hi Russ, nice work on the detail. Do you mean that you are using stick solder?

You can get solder paster from any professional electronics supplier. I get mine from Farnell in the UK, a quick Google turned up this link in the USA:
https://www.alliedelec.com/search/searc ... lder+paste

Hope that helps, if you buy some try a little syringe to start with.

a few pics of the secondary range finders, some of the ladders look bent, before they get painted i will straighten them ,they are very fine copper wire they bend easy, but are easy to straighten also. i am looking for a pic of the back of the 5.9"single guns on sheer,i am good on all other elevations but cannot find i pic of the back,i think they are kind of open but cannot verify this.i am going to tackle the 11" turrets next, seeing there are only two of them they will be balsa skinned with styrene,to make a master to cast one turret would take more time than building two.moulds take a fair bit of time to make.
