I've gotten back to a long postponed project of mine and since i don't have the capital required to get me the newer Tone i had to improvise a bit. does anyone has a good reference or picture on Tone's bridge? let me explain myself better, i have Miyukikai's plans and love this website here http://www.ijn.dreamhost.com/index.html alot of my questions have been answered with these sources , however i don't know which level of the bridge has linoleum decks and im stuck here. thanks for any help
That's Ed Low's site. He's pretty meticulous about research and references.
Can't get to my kit for now but, judging from the Tamiya color plate below (image courtesy of HobbySearch), I'd say it's just the compass bridge level, which makes sense.
Thanks Dan, i think i can make out the compass bridge just barely but it does look to have linoleum. the deck that follows after the compass level is the one that troubles me i clearly see linoleum but i'm not sure if it covers this deck. Mr. Low's CAD drawings are exceptional but there is no linoleum at all to bad.
Thats an awesome shot Pepe! thanks you guys!!! i take the anti-skid plates were added after the roof was modified? i want to finish this Tone as she was in 1939 i don't think there were any anti-skid plates up there at the time..
Probably not before the installation of the AA command platform in Jan-Feb 1943. Below are images of Tone's bridge top while fitting out and as completed.
I'm already past this point,i would've liked to add the plating i think it looks very good with it but first i'm running a low-budget buildup maybe ill have to order a few things in the future, however for the moment i'm doing good. in any case does anyone know where can i get this kind plating in a 1/350 scale and what exactly is its name ?? i call it anti-skid but im sure there is another name for it. someone asked this question once and i disregarded it..
like i wrote still crude, i'll keep working on it until is something. the structure is not painted yet color you are seeing is a primer

I agree, it looks very good. A search has not yielded any 1/350 anti-skid plating, which is surprising.
I agree that some support trusses are likely to be under there, but probably very small and elongated. Here is a not so great photo of Chikuma's bridge 1942. Something's under there, and not just cabling.
Dan thats a great shot one i've never seen before. You know i remembered seeing great CAD plans on Miyukikai's website a while back and i think luck was on my side this time. Lattice work looks very complicted but since im taking my time with this one i'll give it a try
Timmy the closest one to the japanese antiskid plating has got to be the american one, german's platings are not even close. now i know where to find some thanks again
i want to work on the bridge tonite when i get home from work and hopefully i'll have some update by sunday.
