What should i use

Post by roy allen »

Hi everyone :wave_1:
I have a grp hull for an RN Castle class patrol ship, the question i have is this.

What should i use to smooth out the raised bulwarks on the focsl'e.
Fill and sand or skim with plastercard if possible.
I really need to keep the thickness down or it will not look right
A shot of HMS Leeds Castle to give you an idea of what the focsl'e looks like

Hi Roy For a GRP hull where the bulwarks are part of that hull I either use a sanding block with various grades of wet and dry or a small hand belt sander . Proxxon make a superb belt sander and of course it has many other uses . The belt sander can fit into a GRP hull and it takes about 5 minutes to reduce the thickness and give a tidy finish. Hope this helps :thumbs_up_1:
